Jack James is an animator and filmmaker from the greater Philadelphia area. I attend Drexel University in Philadelphia, pursuing a degree in animation and visual effects. I specialize in direction and storyboarding cartoons! I love the medium of animation, and can’t remember a time where I didn’t want to pursue the medium. Ever since I discovered that animation was a thing that people made, I’ve been laser-focused on being a part of that community. I’ve spent time as a motion graphics animator, production assistant, video editor, and sports videographer, but my true passion rests in storytelling.
Currently, I’m spearheading an action packed short titled “Frog,” through my production company Shader Month Productions.

I’m also always working on short cartoons, ranging from angry beavers to melodramatic 1920’s actresses! I spend my time as a full time student, freelance CG generalist, freelance video editor, and film enthusiast!
I hope to submit these shorts into festivals, network with passionate creatives, and make beautiful things. My desire to create is strong, and I don’t ever want to stop making things. There’s nothing I love more than the creative pursuit and collaborative creative process.
